Dedric Lawson named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year
Dedric Lawson, KU’s best player and starting power forward, was named as the Big 12’s Newcomer of the Year by the coaches on Sunday. Lawson was also unanimously selected as a first-team All-Big 12 honoree.

Marcus Garrett, Devon Dotson receive Big 12 honors
Devon Dotson and Marcus Garrett each received honors from the Big 12 coaches. Dotson, a freshman on the 2018-19 Jayhawks, was selected to the All-Big 12 third team and to the Big 12 all-freshman team. Garrett, a sophomore who averaged 19.2 minutes per game last season, was picked to the six-man All-Big 12 defensive team. (There was a tie for the award and thus an extra player ended up on the list.)
