Much will be made of the Jayhawks’ 24-17 win over Indiana State to kick off the Miles-era over the following days and weeks. The Jayhawks were shaky at times and needed a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter to avoid losing to an FCS program — something two of the last three full-time KU coaches did in their first game.
‘Lights out’: Andrew Parchment stars in KU football debut
With Carter Stanley in the shotgun, KU lined up with two tight ends on the line of scrimmage and with Parchment to Stanley’s left. Up front, Indiana State matched KU with eight bodies on the line of scrimmage. As the ball was snapped, the offensive line pushed to the left in Parchment’s direction. Instead, the wide receiver came around and received a toss on a reverse.
