At the Wake Forest Invite, Maria Linares and Ines Mesquita took home first place bracket finishes in singles play, but ironically suffered the only Wildcat loss in doubles as K-State pairs wrecked shop, going 8-1 on the weekend. In singles play, K-State was 13-6 overall, but went 6-0 on Sunday.
In other words, a pretty good showing against a field including Wake Forest, Louisville, Virginia, Appalachian State, East Carolina, James Madison, and others.
Saturday in Oklahoma City at the Head of the Oklahoma, K-State took first place in the Novice 4s and Novice 8s. Those wins overshadowed the three Wildcat Varsity 8 crews, which took 6th, 8th, and 10th overall in the collegiate V8 event, and the V4s which finished 9th, 11th, and 13th.

And in disgusting and contemptible news, a sukkah — a hut used during the Jewish festival of Sukkot, or Feast of the Tabernacles — was stolen and destroyed by vandals on campus Friday night. This is, likely, the second anti-Semitic incident on campus in the last six months. We at Bring on the Cats strongly condemn this sort of nonsense.
