College Football TV Schedule & Gambling Picks – Week 10

Can you feel the tension in the air right now? I know I can. It’s Bedlam week!

This is a pretty great weekend for college football in general. Hell, even the bad games are intriguing (Baylor-Kansas, anyone?). Will the Oklahoma Sooners cover — or, more importantly, win — at Oklahoma State? Will Iowa State be able to keep i going in Morgantown? We’re about to find out! *Toby Rowland voice*

Auburn (-15) at Texas A&M – A&M was embarrassed by Mississippi State last week, but is Auburn getting a bit too much credit here? After all, this team did lose to LSU less than three weeks ago. Regardless, Auburn is significantly better than A&M on both sides of the ball. Gambling pick: Auburn covers, which probably puts a nail in the coffin of Kevin Sumlin’s tenure at A&M. Over 51.5

Baylor (-7.5) at Kansas – YESSSSSSSSSS! Toilet Bowl time! Charlie Brewer did okay when he entered the game against Texas (17-27, 181) and I think he’ll be pretty fun to watch against this Kansas defense. The really interesting matchup, however, will be Baylor’s defense (125th in yards allowed per game) vs. Kansas’ offense (100th in yards per game and 112th in points per game). Gambling pick: Baylor covers fairly easily and picks up its first W. Over 61.5

Iowa State at West Virginia (-2.5) – Is Iowa State due for a letdown after an emotional home win? Maybe, but this Matt Campbell seems like the perfect guy to keep a team focused, so I doubt they lay an egg. However, West Virginia still has the offensive firepower to break through against a defense that hasn’t really budged lately. Gambling pick: Iowa State’s fairytale run comes to a halt, and West Virginia covers in a close win. Under 60

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State (-2.5) – OU being an underdog on the road is a decent sign, but it’ll only go in their favor if the defense can force third-and-longs. The best way to do that is with a four-man front, and I hope Mike Stoops deploys one. On the offensive end, I picture Baker Mayfield doing some very big things in Stillwater. Gambling pick: Oklahoma covers and pulls off the “upset”. Over 76

Clemson (-7.5) at NC State – Kelly Bryant is healthy for Clemson, but NC State defensive linemen Darian Rosario, Justin Jones and Eurndraus Bryant should also be back after getting banged up against Notre Dame. With that D-line back at (or at least close to) full strength, things won’t be easy for Clemson offensively. Gambling pick: Clemson wins a close one, but NC State beats the spread. Under 51

Texas at TCU (-7) – It’s tough to make a call when you think a game will be low-scoring, and that’ll likely to be the case in this one. If Kenny Hill got the bad out of his system in Ames, TCU could skate to a comfortable win. Texas’ defense isn’t a pushover, so a bounce-back effort may be tough to come by. On the other side, we may see two QBs for Texas this week — both of whom are likely to struggle against the Big 12’s best D. Gambling pick: TCU covers in front of what should be close to a 50-50 crowd in Ft. Worth. Under 46.5

LSU at Alabama (-21.5) – Nick Saban is about to embarrass Ed Orgeron. That’s pretty much all I have to say. Gambling pick: Bama covers. Over 48.5

Virginia Tech (-2.5) at Miami – Is Miami good? I still have no idea, but what about Virginia Tech? They hung fairly tough against Clemson and beat a decent West Virginia team in early September, but it’s just hard to tell how good anyone in that division really is (I challenge you to name every ACC Coastal team without using Google). Anyway, I’m going with the better defense. Gambling pick: Virginia Tech wins and covers in South Florida. Over 50
