High (After)Noon Highlights(1/11): New documentary about Bryant Reeves

Welcome to High Noon Highlights, a place to catch up on everything you missed in Oklahoma State Athletics.

It’s high noon (kind of?)…

A new documentary will showcase what Big Country has been up to:

Ever since the Vancouver Grizzlies left for Memphis in 2001, no one has been able to get a hold of Bryant “Big Country” Reeves. Well, filmmaker Kat Jayme sought to find out what Reeves has been up to since he left the NBA in her film “Finding Big Country.”

So yes, Jayme does find Bryant “Big Country” Reeves—about halfway through her almost 43-minute documentary—on his estate in Oklahoma, where he’s lived since 2002 (the Grizzlies left Vancouver in ‘01).

Without spoiling too much, Reeves is nothing but accommodating to Jayme. He lets her rummage through his man cave as she pleases; at one point she even tries on a pair of his mammoth shoes.

“[The Grizzlies] were such a laughing joke here in Vancouver, and in the league at that time, and my goal was to really show the heart behind the team and with Finding Big Country, the heart behind Bryant’s story,” she said. {Slam Basketball}

Chris Carson named 2018 Breakout Performer by Pro Football Focus:

While to Seahawks will miss out on the Playoffs this season, former Oklahoma State running back Chris Carson had a year that earned him Break Performer by Pro Football Focus.

Carson carried Seattle’s league-leading running game, even though Pro Football Focus pegged Seattle’s offensive line as the 22nd best run-blocking unit in the league.

His ability to make tacklers miss and plow through contact was instrumental to Seattle’s success last season, and will continue to be in the future. {The Seahawks Wire}
