The Canadian running back had 2,094 rushing yards this past season.
Hubbard made the announcement Monday via social media.
OSU fans became increasingly optimistic earlier this month Hubbard — a Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada native — would return after several athletic department staff members, and football coaches and players tweeted emojis and images of the Canadian flag.
Hubbard ran for an FBS-best 2,094 rushing yards — second only in OSU history to Barry Sanders’ 1988 total of 2,850. Hubbard scored 21 touchdowns and averaged 6.4 yards per rush attempt. He was an unanimous All-American, the Big 12’s Offensive Player of Year and one of three finalists for the Doak Walker Award as the best running back in the country.
