Oklahoma State’s Most-Watched Games of 2018

The Cowboys had some decent numbers for their biggest wins

There was one good thing for Oklahoma State in this up-and-down 2018 football season; when people tuned in to watch the Cowboys take the field, more often than not they saw an OSU victory.

Oklahoma State’s most watched games of 2018 included wins over West Virginia, Texas, and Missouri, and a close loss to rival Oklahoma.

The Cowboys’ Bedlam loss — a game that was decided in the closing minutes — got nearly 4-million people to tune in on their TVs and streaming devices. It was enough to be the fourth most watched game of week 11 and OSU’s most watched game of the season.

The homecoming upset of Texas in week nine was the Cowboys second-most watched regular season match-up with more than 3.5 million college football fans tuned in. It was enough to finish as the second most watched matchup of the weekend.

The come-from-behind upset of West Virginia was OSU’s second, second-place finish in week 12. Nearly 3.5 million people watched the Cowboys pull off their bowl-season clenching upset victory.

As for the post season, the Liberty Bowl against Missouri was the 12th highest rated bowl game with 2.3 rating and had more than 3.8 million viewers. Not bad considering it was going on at the same time as the awful 7-6 Oregon vs. Michigan State Redbox Bowl that also got a 2.3 rating.

The only game in here that really surprised me was the game against Boise State. In what seemed like a decent match-up, OSU got beat by games like OU vs. Iowa State, BYU vs. Wisconsin, and Florida State vs. Syracuse.

Shoutout to Sports Media Watch for keeping track of the weekly ratings all season long.
