The former Cowboy signal caller is heading to Tampa Bay.

Former Oklahoma State quarterback Taylor Cornelius will get a chance to continue his professional career after being selected in the ninth round of the XFL Draft on Tuesday.

Cornelius played only one season at OSU in 2018 after joining the Cowboys as a walk-on in 2015. He threw for 3,978 yards and scored 42 total touchdowns. He went undrafted last April in the NFL draft.

Cornelius joins former Georgia QB Aaron Murray on Tampa Bay’s roster. Murray was one of eight QBs assigned to teams prior to the draft.

Four other former OSU players are available in the XFL draft: offensive tackle Michael Bowie, offensive guard Larry Williams, wide receiver Codey McElroy — who played basketball at OSU — and defensive end Jarrell Owens.

The eight-team XFL is filling their respective 71-man rosters during the two-day draft by position. Day 2 of the draft will be Wednesday.

Here is the order: 1. Skill Players (QB, RB, WR, TE) 2. Offensive Line (OT, OG, OC) 3. Defensive Front Seven (DL, LB) 4. Defensive Backfield (CB, NB, SS, FS) 5. Open Draft (all remaining players after positional drafts, in addition to P/K/LS)
