Frogs gain commitment from DE Jason Vaughn

The defensive end out of Miami, Florida is an up-and-coming prospect.

TCU earned a commitment on Sunday, as defensive end Jason Vaughn pledged to the Frogs shortly after receiving an offer.

Vaughn made his official visit to TCU this weekend, and committed on the spot Sunday after receiving his offer. The defensive end, standing at 6’5” and 225 pounds, is a big addition to the TCU class for 2019.

The Frogs are losing Ben Banogu, LJ Collier, and Mike Epley at defensive end after this season, and need more depth at the position. Defensive ends on the roster after those three leave (that have any game experience) are Ochaun Mathis, Gary Overshown, Brandon Bowen.

Vaughn is the 17th commit for TCU’s 2019 class, and third defensive end, joining Aledo’s Colt Ellison and former Arizona commit Adam Plant Jr.

Currently, TCU is the only P5 offer that Vaughn has, but if history holds true, more offers should be coming in soon.

TCU’s 2019 class is currently rated as the 33rd best class in the country, and 3rd best in the Big 12.
