TCU received some good news this week with the return of a QB from injury | Fort Worth Star Telegram

Mike Collins returned to practice on Tuesday.

Collins had been sidelined with a bone bruise in his foot. It’s the same foot he injured in the Baylor game last year that cut short his sophomore season.

Patterson has described Collins as day-to-day with the bone bruise, saying time is the only thing that heals it. It’s unclear how limited Collins was on Tuesday.

Greatness knows greatness.

“Gary always does an awesome job,” Stoops said. “I really think a lot of Gary. We’re really good friends. I always respected and appreciated all of his work and how his teams played.”

Ex-TCU basketball guard Alex Robinson reportedly signs with Cleveland Cavaliers | Dallas Morning News

Alex Robinson started with the Sacramento Kings, and now is headed to Cleveland.

Robinson, who graduated from TCU as the program’s all-time leader in assists, went undrafted in June before earning an invitation to join the Sacramento Kings for the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League in July. Per Smith, Robinson’s deal with Cleveland is expected to be a partial or non-guaranteed camp with Cleveland is expected to be a partial or non-guaranteed camp deal.

Benford and Jamie Dixon go way back, when Benford played for Texas Tech, but now the two are on the same team, and Tony is fitting right in.

Benford has felt right at home in Fort Worth. This is the area Benford has called home even since being fired as North Texas’ head coach following the 2016-17 season, going 62-95 in his five seasons with the Mean Green. His three youngest children live in the Denton area, and his oldest son is a high school coach in Arizona.
