The in-state prospect has narrowed his focus towards in-state rivals Texas and Texas A&M.
One of the state’s top edge rushers announced the top two schools in his recruitment this afternoon.

Thomas ranks as the nation’s No. 230 overall prospect and No. 15 weak-side defensive end, according to the 247Sports Composite.
After earning all-district honors as a sophomore, a lower leg injury forced Thomas to miss his junior season. At 6’3 240 pounds, he possesses the size and frame of a versatile defensive edge prospect.
As Texas remains on the prowl for elite edge rushers as they move into a four-man front under defensive coordinator Chris Ash, Thomas and Landon Jackson headline the Longhorns recruiting board at defensive end. The same goes for Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies.
Position wise, the recruitment of Thomas and Jackson are lining up to be the most significant head-to-head recruiting battles that Fisher and Herman have been in to date. While each program may end up with one or the other, the importance of securing a top edge rusher cannot be overstated in this day and age in college football.
It’s worthy to note that Thomas’ current pinned tweet includes a picture of him and head coach Tom Herman from Junior Day last year.
