The victory comes in the same week that Texas fired head coach Michael Center, who is facing a federal charge of conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
The Longhorns aimed their focus to the tennis court Thursday, winning the doubles point and taking three singles matches.
Colin Markes and Telles clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (4) tiebreak win. Yuya Ito and Chih Chi Huang accounted for the first doubles win, a 6-3 victory.
Ito, ranked ninth in singles, kept the momentum by defeating No. 28 Kyle Seelig 6-0, 6-3 to make it 2-0 for Texas.
Rodrigo Banzer brought Texas to the brink of victory with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win over Hunter Tubert.
After James Trotter defeated Markes to make it 3-1, Telles made his push to clinch the match.
